De Sol

Born in 1956, De Sol, born Jürg Ziegler, found his way to art at an early age: even as a young boy and later as a teenager, the Swiss artist attracted attention as a talented and enthusiastic draughtsman. His career initially took him in a completely different direction, however. A licensed lawyer, he worked as an entrepreneur in the private sector for many years before devoting himself exclusively to his great passion that is painting.

Today De Sol is at his most creative. In his studio in Meilen near Zurich, Switzerland, he devotes himself entirely to painting. From portraits to everyday scenes and impressions from his travels, De Sol‘s colour-intensive and expressionist work is inspired by scenes that often go unnoticed in day-to-day life. The results are impressive pictures in various formats that reinterpret the ordinary in unconventional ways.
